The Personal Touch wants to bring your attention the “other” side of living and
working, but also visiting this magnificent area of Zambia, as many tourists do
not see the ongoing struggle to conserve this area for generations to come.
Norman Carr first started to operate walking safaris in the Luangwa and he
realised that conservation could not work without the local people truly
benefiting from the wildlife around them.
Today, this approach to responsible tourism is more important then ever!
For years many of the companies in the Luangwa valley have been working with various projects or started their own projects to ensure that conservation efforts continued. To ensure the long term future of these essential, sometimes individual, projects, Personal Touch is assisting as well.
Our Community
The Luangwa Valley has a beauty and magic obvious to every visitor.
But it can be a harsh and unforgiving place too, and especially for local
people, most of whom live by traditional subsistence farming. When visiting the
area you may be unaware of some of the problems that the community faces;
growing enough to eat, too little or too much rain, crop raiding elephants or
simply finding work to make ends meet.
Personal Touch has joined forces with Project Luangwa; “Ensuring the people of the Luangwa Valley benefit from tourism by investing in education.” PL supports a variety of community project which proof tourism also brings opportunities for the growing local community around the park.
Not only can we arrange transfers to and from various project sites within the Mfuwe area, even if you wish to experience a bit more of the "cultural" side of your safari, Personal Touch is your choice for all transport arrangements.

The Conservation
Although many initiatives have brought a decline in poaching, the
area of South Luangwa is still under the threat of poaching and ongoing
deforestation.
Personal Touch has been making donations for years to the South Luangwa Conservation Society. SLCS is a non-profit organization committed to the conservation and preservation of the local wildlife and natural resources of the National Park and surrounding game management areas by means of anti poaching patrols and snare removal programs.
Personal Touch can arrange your transfer to S.L.C.S. base in Mfuwe for a visit by appointment.
Realizing that tourism should not destroy the natural environment, Personal Touch aims for the true success; the balance between tourism growth, the well being of the local Zambians and environmental impact. For this reason we support various Conservation and Community projects.
